Oxygen Therapy: Super Oxygenation for Health

 Oxygen Therapy Benefits

Oxygen Therapy is very important in keeping your body in top shape. Oxygen is the most vital element required for human life and it is the key to good health.

We can survive without water for a week and go without food for a month, but we can only live a few minutes without oxygen.  Oxygen is both a life-giving and life-sustaining element.  All body activities require oxygen.  Through oxidation, the body generates heat and energy from its fuel, and disposes of wastes.

Our bodies are two-thirds water.  Of that water, a majority resides within the lymph.  Since the water in our bodies is itself 8/9 oxygen by weight, we are therefore composed of over 59% oxygen by weight.  The best way to optimize health is to oxygenate every cell and system in our body.  The more oxygen we have in our system, the more energy we produce, and the more efficient we can eliminate wastes.  Good health is dependent upon the production, maintenance and flow of energy, which is produced by the oxidation (burning) of sugar.

Oxygen Therapy or Oxidation is central to metabolism, circulation, respiration, digestion, assimilation and elimination.  Sufficient oxygen allows the body to rebuild itself and maintain the immune system.  The basic requirements for each cell are sugar, amino acids, minerals, hormones, enzymes, and oxygen.  The balance between these elements of life is critical for optimum health.  Once the level of available oxygen is a cell drops below 60% normal, the cell is forced to switch to an inferior method of energy production – fermentation.  Fermentation produces only 1/6 the energy of oxidation, so abnormal cells, which are perpetually starving for energy, have huge appetites for sugar.  This wasteful metabolism becomes self-sustaining and dominant unless the oxygen level is sharply increased. When the body has sufficient oxygen, it is able to properly eliminate toxins from the system.  Natural immunity is enhanced when the system is not over burdened with a heavy build-up of toxins.

Inside the Cell

All cells derive their energy from glucose.  Healthy cells burn glucose in oxygen through oxidation, resulting in the production of carbon dioxide and water.  Unhealthy cells burn glucose through fermentation, resulting in the production of large amounts of carbon monoxide and lactic acid.  The body cannot easily rid itself of carbon monoxide, as it posses a strong affinity for the iron molecule within the hemoglobin.  Not only does this prevent the hemoglobin from picking up fresh oxygen, it also lowers body temperature and raises heart rate.  The lactic acid which builds up clogs neural pathways, eventually solidifying and causing degeneration.

Circumstantially, the blood then carries a heavy load of sludge, and toxins that are deposited in both the fat and the lymph.  Thus the water composition of the body gets dirtier and dirtier.

Healthy cells, which have sufficient oxygen and nutrients, manufacture an enzyme coating that protects them from oxidation and invasion by foreign pathogens such as viruses.  Oxygen starved cells are unable to produce this enzyme coating and are thus more vulnerable to invasion. Furthermore, disease microbes or pathogens have no enzyme coating.  When ozone is introduced into the area, it oxidizes both the disease microbes and the unhealthy cells, allowing them to be cleared from the body.

Oxidizing Free Radicals

Free radicals are atoms with unpaired electrons, a natural occurrence in biochemical reactions.  If they didn’t exist, there could be no chemical reactions and thus no life without free radicals.  Some are toxic to all living cells, while others, only to the most vulnerable cells.  Singlet oxygen, O1, is highly reactive beneficial free radical that acts as a scavenger of other harmful free radicals.  The nascent oxygen combines with them to render them harmless, thereby protecting cells from damage.

Free radicals scavenger and enzymes enhancers are gaining popularity as nutritional supplements have been shown to help protect marginally healthy cells from free radical damage.  Along with oxygenation of the cells, they reduce oxygen starvation at the cellular level, which causes the cells to become too weak to make the enzyme coating to protect the cells.  Free radicals proliferate as toxins interfere with the normal neutralizing enzyme mechanism for cleaning them up.

Repeated sessions with ozone are recommended as viruses and bacteria seem to be more susceptible at different stages of the growth cycle.   Non-pressurized oxygen alone does not produce the beneficial effects of ozone therapy.

Medical ozone, when generated by the proper equipment and administered with proper protocols, is completely safe and non-toxic to humans.  It has been shown to be completely safe, even when a dosage is many times greater than the proposed human dosage was administered.

Collateral Therapies

Ozone is not a drug and it is not a magic bullet.  It is a tool of great power which can aid the body in regaining health.  However, in the end, it is the immune system that heals the body.  The immune system is controlled by the midbrain or limbic system, through the thymus.  The limbic system also controls the emotions.  If the emotions are disrupted due to stressors, whether exogenous or endogenous, the immune system is suppressed.  All chronic illness and disease has an emotional component.  If this is not dealt with, physical treatments will have little or no effect.  By using ozone in the steam sauna, it enhances the immune system by contributing to a calm even heartbeat, produced by a well-oxygenated heart pumping clean bright red blood through plaque free arteries.

A Holistic approach to health and wellness should include a combination of ozone, exercise, nutrition, and emotional calm.
